Last week Josh went with daddy and Grandpa for the day to help unload the big dump trucks on an out-of-town job we're doing. Here they come

Watching them unload wasn't enough for Josh! Both of the boys went with daddy and grandpa last weekend to get everything lined up for Monday. Tim let Josh drive one of them.... loading, backing up, and dumping. For any worriers out there... no need to worry... there's no license required if you're not on a public road and they aren't. They're digging a HUMONGOUS POND in the middle of a big field. If you look closely you "might" be able to see Josh at the wheel (LOL). And, again, not to worry... both daddy and grandpa were close by in the trackhoes.

They were close enough to take these pictures of Josh driving, backing, and dumping. He came home smiling from ear to ear! And, it's all he's talked about since. He can't wait for Christmas break which will come to our home on Dec 19th. He's hoping Tim plans to work while he's on break and he wants Tim to work on the weekends (LOL) so he can go with him.

Here Nathan is getting some pointers from grandpa... with them standing outside the cab you can really see how big these dump trucks are.

When I first saw these pictures I asked Tim if Josh was really in that big dump truck all by himself. He said, "nope..... Nathan was in there, too.!" (LOL)! Ok... that's NOT what I wanted to hear but they all got a nice chuckle out of my reaction.

So... here are my "little" boys playing with the "big boy" toys!

Looks like the family business will continue for another generation! I'm again, so thankful for our homeschooling lifestyle which affords the boys time with their daddy and grandpa learning the business. Josh knows all about figuring fuel costs, calculating estimated time per round, deadlines and why it's sometime profitable to work overtime, etc. He's in 4th grade, his math book is 5th grade, and well.. we won't tell him that his on-the-job mental math includes "algebra." That would scare him off after all he's heard his sisters say about algebra (LOL).

I just love this! What a joy for a youngster. No worries mom, this is just great! Think of all the unhealthy things a young boy could be getting himself into...a big truck is wonderful! This just makes me smile.
