CHRISTMAS PARTY WITH THE TRAIN CLUB

My parents hosted the annual Train Club Christmas Party at their house this year. She had her friends, Bonnie and Jerry, come to help as well as all of us. It was a potluck style dinner which they had after a short club meeting. After the meeting and dinner, everyone adjourned to the garage to look at all of my dad's train stuff. Here are my mom and dad:

Their friends, Bonnie and Jerry, who came to help... It was Bonnie's birthday! What a way to spend your birthday - helping someone else put on a Christmas party.

Here are the kids relaxing for a bit with my mom while waiting for the party to start.

Nathan and Em went in GG's room to visit for a bit and then she joined us out in the kitchen.

Here GG is standing by some artwork - rubbings that she did many years ago while visiting my aunt in England.Mom and Bonnie discussing where all of the food will go.

more plans being discussed

Emily taking a break for a few minutes.

My mom was really surprised when we brought the gingerbread train in.

Here is the train room in their house which is actually their back entry. Their "real" train room is in a separate BUILDING of it's own.

Josh at the controls in the house train room.

They had people eating everywhere - in the kitchen and dining room as well as extra tables set up in the train room and around the kitchen.

some time to relax while everyone else was out in the train room. Nathan took this picture as evidenced by the feet in the foreground (LOL).

Someone grabbed the camera and took a picture of us. I normally don't have many pictures of me because I am always the one behind the camera (LOL)! Tonight they took all sorts of pictures... mostly Nathan is the one to thank which you can tell by the angle of this shot of Tim and the HUGE smile on his face as he teases Nathan.

I spent a considerable amount of time in the office doing bookwork. Nathan snapped at least 20 pictures, but I couldn't use them because there are too many things I would have to block from the pictures and I don't have time to do that... but here is one picture of our pile of papers.

and here is another one I am obligated to post or my family will refuse to let me post any more funny pictures of them. I had finished an entire stack of stuff to mail and set them on the back of this couch. They fell off and I was worried that I may have missed some that may have slid under the couch. So, I was checking and they thought this would be a funny picture for me to put on the blog. So, here it is.... sigh....

Mom had a bunch of these scrubs that you put over your shoes so people wouldn't have to worry about taking their shoes off. I think I need to get a box of these! Ours are almost all gone.

After the party was over Nathan helped gather them all up....
He and Josh went around blowing out all of the candles.

Josh decided he had had enough pictures taken for today.

Mom and her friend. Bonnie. It was a GREAT party! I'm sure my mom would want to say THANKS BONNIE for coming out to help.

You Mom looks fabulous! Good to see your parents doing something they love....I'm wondering if I could find some of those little scrubby shoes by Saturday. LOL

I think she found them at Home Depot or Lowe's but I could be wrong. Maybe she'll see this comment and answer here.

Love the train track around the ceiling. I saw this several years ago in Sunset Magazine and always thought it would be a cool thing to have in a boy's bedroom!
